We all love seeing our favorite influencers succeed and get the recognization they deserve. But with explosive growth there comes doubt. With some people noticing a suspicious amount of follower increases in some cases, questions of integrity always seem to come up. But is it really true? Do influencers of the world really buy followers? We’ve asked the tough question to some of your favorite influencers here at INFLOW Global Summit 2021!
Do Influencers Buy Followers?
“They Can Not Call Themselves Influencers”
“Yes, they do” said Arian Zamani, in his interview with us. “But when they do, they can not call themselves influencers”. Arian pointed out that those who buy followers would have no engagement. And alluded to the fact that any influencer without organic reach is no real influencer!
“Everyone Would Be an Influencer”
Nadine Abdelaziz said, “Of course, you can even look up who does and who doesn’t on the internet”. Although everyone could buy followers she said, not everyone with a large following can be an influencer. “It’s not about the number of followers, it’s about the quality, the content you’re presenting. Or else everyone would be an influencer”
“It’s most important to get real engagement”
Adil Taouli was quick to point out that he wasn’t one of those who do buy followers. Adil defended passionately that numbers were not important, “It’s most important to get real engagement” was a point he hammered home quite adamantly.
“You will not understand your market”
INFLOW Global Summit 2021 master of ceremony Sara Al Madani said that influencers do, sadly, buy followers. But those who do she said, will not understand their market. She also pointed out that it was the wrong aproach regardless of the desire to grow bigger on social media.
