YouTube: Understanding the Creator, Public and Brand

We came together with Saira Chogley, YoTips, Harsh Beniwal, and Tiffany Rothe to talk all about YouTube. Watch the video for the full panel or read along for the highlights!

How did you reach your level of success on YouTube?

Harsh Beniwal: I never planned to get so much successful on YouTube, it happened by chance. I always wanted to act, so I started make funny videos.

YoTips: One day I had a new idea about creating a video on how to be beautiful without makeup and it went viral. It reached one million in a week and was all over the trending pages on various countries.

Tiffany Rothe: I am a fitness coach and trainer, and people were asking “How can we continue to work out with you after we leave here?”. So I started to upload fitness videos on YouTube.

How did you maintain that success?

YoTips: I try to create videos constantly and always come up with new ideas instead copying other people.

Where does your inspiration come from?

YoTips: Mine only comes from social media. I ask my followers what they want to watch through Instagram and YouTube stories. Engagement and interaction are crucial for me. I know the most important thing is not the number of followers, but the connection you make with them.

How would you say that you’ve transformed your passion into your brand?

Harsh Beniwal: My passion was acting. If you follow your passion you will become successful.

How do you separate your regular life from your online persona?

Tiffany Rothe: It is a full time job. If you are an influencer, you have to stop working at some point, you have to have a cut-off time. You need to say “I am not being present for other people this evening but only for my life”.
