Reasons Behind the Hype House Meltdown: the Jack Wright and Sienna Mae Situation

A former member of the internet’s well-known content house, Hype House star, Sienna Mae has been at the forefront of allegations of sexual misconduct. In bringing to light his allegations, co-star Jack Wright may have also pulled the linchpins that were holding the now Netflix famous content empire together.

The House Of The Rising Star

Hype House first launched in 2019 with the premise of a content house that put influencers in close proximity together. The concept of such an endeavor had been previously tested by several different establishments to various acclaim. And Hype House too would draw unwanted comparisons to the now infamous Team 10 house at the time of its inception. Despite the critics’ apprehensions, however, Hype House would prove more stable and profitable than its contemporaries in time. As from the very start, the hype housed several ultra-popular names under its banner, contributing to its popularity.  Names such as Daisy Keech, the D’Amilios, and Addison Rae have all been linked with the project. In addition to today’s focus, Jack Wright and Sienna Mae.

The House Of The Damned

Hype House, like many other prominent internet groups, wouldn’t be without woes. In 2020 it came to public attention that they had hosted a massive house party. The party that took place while social distance mandates were still in place, also got other internet celebrities in trouble. Involving massive names like James Charles, the party put the content house on the map in some sense. Like any successful internet organization, Hype House reaped the attention it got from its controversies. And eventually soared to such a height that Netflix was willing to give them their own reality show!

The Truth House

Followers knew about the romantic relationship between two prominent creators within the House, Jack Wright, and Sienna Mae long before the controversy. This relationship was also shown extensively by the Netflix series, but the frustrations of this affair were only recently revealed. Jack came out with his allegations against Sienna Mae with a YouTube video on the 20th of January.

Detailing his allegations in his video, Jack Wright went on to explain his experiences as a victim of sexual assault. Jack used the account of his friend, another TikTok creator who was a witness, Rizzo, to give examples of Sienna’s behavior. Mentioning the times in which Sienna displayed a forceful attitude and a disregard for Jack’s consent on several occasions. “Knowing no boundaries, she would verbally and physically assault Jack And manipulate him into submission” Rizzo recollected.

Sienna then, promptly responded with a lengthy essay, not only admitting to the allegations but also attempting to justify them. In her social media post about the allegations, Sienna admits to her wrongdoing, saying “I didn’t understand the damage I was causing to Jack at the time” and “Now that I understand the consequences of my actions I would like to apologize to Jack” in her essay.

While Jack has come out saying that he accepted Sienna’s apology, the community hasn’t yet forgiven her. And the Hype House was quick to put her membership into an indefinite suspension.
