We know that social media companies sometimes copy features from each other. One example of this has appeared recently. Taking the working principle of the TikTok application, Instagram aimed to surpass its rival with Instagram Explore. According to the new update, a radical change will be made in the structure of the Instagram Explore section.
As it is known, in TikTok, the content is presented to users in a vertical format, while in Instagram it is positioned horizontally. It turned out that this system, which separates the two platforms from each other, will change. Instagram will now show the recommended content in the Explore section to the user in a vertical and scrollable form, just like TikTok. With this new design, Instagram will be one step closer to the TikTok application. A similar system is currently implemented to Reels too. Users swipe up to switch between videos.
It is said that there are no design changes that will negatively affect the use of the Instagram Explore section. Also, the current state of Instagram Explore will not change unless the user clicks on any of the suggested posts. However, when a post is clicked, Instagram will automatically switch to vertical mode and navigate the user between posts accordingly. It is also easy to exit the relevant post with the back button placed in the upper left. Even though we know what the new design is, it is still not known when the new Instagram Explore feature, which is under development, will be released.
