INFLOW Network and GAIA Creative Group are one of the official agencies to the responsible organisation committee for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. One of the promotional activities we’ve ran as the event approaches, was “Host a Fan”. Aiming to create a fan experience that is then converted into engagement, we’ve collaborated with two influencers.
Host a Fan aims to deliver a different approach to Qatar in every different rendition. And to further strengthen the country’s position in hospitality, it pairs a foreign influencer with a local influencer from Qatar; creating a native and multi-faceted Qatar experience.

For the first rendition of Host a Fan, we’ve focused on the gastronomy side of Qatar. Between the dates 11th and 14th of February 2021, we’ve brought together Basil el Haj from Jordan and Abdullah al Ghafri from Qatar. El Haj who attended the Club World Cup also had the opportunity to experience the city in a brand new way. With a focus on gastronomy, he tasted both the local cuisine and the many international flavors Qatar has to offer.
The experience the two influencers had in the 4 days was a big hit both in terms of delivering an original representation of Qatar and in terms of driving up the engagement. El Haj’s YouTube video was among the trending videos and reached 1,1M views which, combined with his content on Instagram, created a total media value of $148.00+.
In total, the project reached 4,792,258 impressions, 23,922 likes, 2,267 comments, and 1,444,600 views; driving an incredible ROI.
