First INFLOW Network Report: How did the COVID-19 Pandemic Affect the Influencer Marketing Industry

No industry has been immune to the effects of the pandemic. And Influencer Marketing has definitely had to adapt to the changes whether through how brands work with influencers or new arising trends.
Not only did the pandemic introduce new trends and platforms but it also presented new challenges and opportunities for influencer and brand collaborations.

This report looks at the changes in the influencer marketing industry during the lockdown of COVID-19 from the perspectives of both influencers and brands. We’ve examined the overall international Influencer Marketing Activities from the eyes of both brands and influencers from different markets (Europe, Middle-East, GCC, USA, and Russia) collected
through a research survey. In this report, you will find the answers from various sources to an anonymous survey about how their working environment has been affected, and what is expected from now on.

Research Methodology

This survey is conducted anonymously in order to receive the candid answers to several questions about the effects of COVID-19 on the Influencer Marketing sector. We’ve conducted two different and adapted
surveys in two different focus groups. The first group includes brand representatives from Fashion, Aviation, FMCG, Banking, Service, Advertising, Hospitality, Beauty & Cosmetics, Transportation, Media and Technology industries while the second focus group includes Influencers from Fashion, Beauty, Technology, Gaming, Lifestyle, Travel and Photography fields. This brings the total participant number of participants to 300, of which 55% are Influencers, and 45% are professionals.

looks at the changes in the influencer marketing industry during the lockdown of COVID-19. It’s interesting to not only see changes in terms of the content shared by influencers, but also the change in platforms in which they chose to connect with to the audience.
