Facebook Introduces New Instagram Messaging Experience

If you’ve ever found it difficult to remember where to find a certain conversation thread, this new Facebook update which eliminates the need of having multiple apps will definitely make your life easier.

As of last week, Facebook announced that it will be introducing new cross-messaging functionality by connecting Messenger with Instagram’s Direct Messages, allowing users to have a unified messaging platform. This move is considered a part of Facebook’s plan to integrate its messaging platforms Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram which could be a major shift for social media.  According to Facebook:

“People are communicating in private spaces now more than ever. More than a billion people already use Messenger as a place to share, hang out, and express themselves with family and friends. That’s why we’re connecting the Messenger and Instagram experience to bring some of the best Messenger features to Instagram – so you have access to the best messaging experience, no matter which app you use.”

In addition to bringing the best features from the messenger to Instagram Direkt like replying to a specific message or forwarding a message, Facebook has brought multiple features including disappearing messages, selfie stickers, reactions, chat colors, and more to Instagram.
