A Group of Influencers from Canada Has Caused Quite a Mess on a Flight

On a flight returning to Canada from Mexico, a group of influencers was seen partying without masks. Reportedly, some of them were passing bottles and vaping. As a result of this inappropriate behavior, the airline company refused to fly them back home with all the other innocent passengers and left them stranded in Cancun, Mexico. Hearing about the incident, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said a few words. The group’s actions, according to him, are a “slap in the face” to individuals who have been following necessary social distancing procedures, as well as flight personnel.

Considering the violations of the pandemic regulations, the Canadian Minister of Health Jean-Yves Duclos also made some statements in a press conference saying: “We know that this issue of Sunwing travelers having behaved irresponsibly, inexcusably, and unacceptably on a flight to Mexico has raised a lot of anger and frustration.”

According to one of the travelers on the flight, about 30 passengers were tested positive for Covid, including herself. She also stated that because of this reckless behavior, she had to isolate herself in Cancun and that her trip cost her more than she had ever expected.

The group is being investigated by Transport Canada, which may result in fines of up to C$5,000(£2,900) per offense.
